Drinking alcohol and taking drugs in excess is never without risk and the music is all you need to have a good time.
- Look after yourself and your mates – Always be in trusted company.
- Seek help – Welfare or medical have specially trained staff and can support you or a friend on a range of issues such as alcohol, drugs, mental health, sexual health and sexual assault.
- It is an offence to supply alcohol to anyone under the age of 18. ID spot checks will be taking place, and anyone caught supplying alcohol to anyone underage will be removed from the event and reported to Police Scotland.
- Eat – Have a good meal before you go out and eat regularly throughout the day.
- Hydrate – Drink about half a pint of water an hour (or up to one pint if it’s hot weather) and never leave drinks unattended. It’s equally as important not to over hydrate. There are multiple free water points onsite plus water is available at all bars and concessions.
- Rest – Make sure you get enough rest before a big night out and take breaks, especially if it’s hot.
- Pace yourself – Space out alcoholic drinks with juice or water.
- Large events are not the best place to experiment – Crowds can be overwhelming.
- Avoid mixing – Mixing drugs including alcohol and medicines is particularly risky for overdose.
- Drugs and alcohol can lower inhibitions but it is your responsibility to make sure any prospective partners are able to give consent to ANY sexual contact.
- Your safety is our number one priority.
